3G services from Airtel is on its way

As per the report, Airtel is all set to launch the 3G services in India, as and when the spectrum is allocated . Airtel, which is already offering 3G services in Seychelles and SriLanka, has succesfully tested 3G applications in Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore on the trial spectrum available to them and engaged with more than one network companies for equipments
Department of Telecommunications(DoT) recently announced the allotement of 3G services in India through auction and all the existing mobile service providers are gearing to launch the services. 3G, the third generation mobile technologies superceeds the existing 2G services and enables the service providers to offer more advanced services including Wireless Voice telephony, Wireless Broadband in mobile phones itself. Currently 3G allows transmission of 384 Kbits/s in Mobile systems and 2Mb/s in stationary systems.
