Indiatimes, Times group property, claimed that they have launched India’s first Mobile Voice Service. The service offers Mobile users to listen news, gossip, music, astro tips from their handsets and the service number, 58888, is common across all mobile service providers and for SMS and WAP services also. Content will be available from Time’s other ventures including Times of India, Economic Times, Filmfare, Radio Mirchi, and Zoom etc. The service is currently available in English and Hindi and the company is planning to expand the service in other languages including Marathi, Bengali, Kannada, Telugu, and Tamil soon.
The Mobile voice service concept is not a very new thing, as the company claimed but the idea of maintaining the same number for its services irrespective of region and service provider is a nice move.
