Nokia’s low cost handsets: Nokia 1209 & Nokia 2600

Nokia India has rolled out two new low cost entry level handsets, Nokia 2600 and Nokia 1209, in the Indian market. In their usual style, Nokia comes up with interesting features including Personalisation and Phone sharing, which fits well for the Indian entry level market.

Nokia 1209 - Ultimate family phone ?:

In the fast growing Indian market, entry level phones holds a huge market share and Nokia consistently used to introduce new features to capture this market share. Starting from introducting FM radio in the entry level phones to Torch light, Nokia always meet the basic needs and desires of the common people who are the potential customers for the entry level phones.

in Nokia 1209, Nokia comes up with an interesting feature called Phone sharing which makes the phone sharing among the members of a family/group easy and convenient. Multiple phone book allows five users to store upto 200 contacts for each on the same phone. In additon to this Nokia 1209 also features Prepaid tracker, a cost tracking application and Power saver mode, which allows to extend the talk time by switching/reducing off few power consuming features in a click.

Nokia 1209 is priced at Rs. 1789 in the market.

Nokia 2600 - Class phone:

Nokia 2600 fulfills all the classic requirements. It allows customers to change their phone look with the colorful fully changeable Xpress on covers. Nokia 2609 also features VGA camera, FM radio, Mp3 ringtones, Nokia Xpress audio messaging and editing, MMS, GPRS and Bluetooth. The phone also supports 6hrs of talktime and 24 days standby time. The phone has a 128 x 160, TFT display in 65k colour support.

Nokia 2600 comes up at a price tag of Rs. 3539 in the market.
