Hutch hikes STD rates

Hutch-Essar, India’s third largest mobile player,has raised STD rates to all other networks to Rs 2.65 from Rs 2.40 earlier for prepaid and non-activated stock in the market.Hutch said the changes would not be applicable to customers who are less than six months old on the network, but beyond this time period the revised rates would be applicable from August 6. The new tariffs would also not apply to offers — Chalta Rahe, easy Chalta Rahe and 295 SKU. Bharti Airtel, the country’s top mobile player, had also increased long distance tariffs for its prepaid and postpaid mobile customers in Delhi region by up to 32 per cent with effect from August 1.
