Dish TV, a subsidiary of Zee group, has introduced Hattrick offer for souther subscribers, an offer by which the price of new connection, basic package has been slashed by 30 - 40 percent. This attempt is seen as a defensive measure to retain its market share in the region after the whooping entry of its rival, Sun DTH. Sun Direct TV has acquired a massive subscriber base of one million in the span of 200 days with the help of its low pricing strategy.

Under this special offer new connection comes @ Rs. 2100 (Rs. 1990 + 200 as installation charge, while the same was Rs.2500+200 earlier) and the basic packages are now starts at Rs. 60 instead of its previous offering at Rs. 150. Also the subscribers can avail a free hat trick, five leading sports channels, 33 free movies and unlimited gaming for a period of one year.

DTH companies are already facing tough time in reducing the losses due to their discounted offering of dish connection and now due to the stiff competition, they are further forced to reduced the price.
