iPhone in India by August 18: Tech2

Rumours about the official launch of iPhone in India is continuing. Last week, one of the popular portals, Techtree reported that Vodafone will launch iPhone in India by Mid-August and Airtel will follow by late august or September beginning. Techtree also quoted that only 8GB version will be initially available in India and at a price around Rs. 11,500 to Rs. 12,000. Initially 3G will not be available however the version will have the support for GPS.

Today, another popular gadget portal, Tech 2 reported with a confirmed date of the next generation phone launch in India. According to Tech2, Vodafone will launch iPhone in India by August 18. However the report doesnt have any information on pricing and the versions.

Based on the above two reports, it seems almost sure that Vodafone is bringing the next generation phone, first to India and most likely in August.  If this is true, Pricing and other details will be clear in next two weeks of time.
