Airtel, Tata Indicom Independence day offers

India is going to celebrate its 61st Independence day and to celbrate this grand occassion commercially, Mobile service providers including Airtel and Tata Indicom has introduced Independence day offers for its subscribers.

According to Airtel’s Independence day offer for its prepaid customers, on recharging for the denomination of Rs. 1947, the subscriber can get full talk time without any processing and service charges and the validity of the offer will be one year from the day of activation. STD calls made under this offer will be charged at Rs. 1/min for one month. This offer is available in Delhi and NCR regions only.

Tata Indicom’s plan is almost similar to Airtel, while in Tata Indicom after recharging for Rs. 1947, the local tata indicom calls will be charged at Rs. 0.19/min while the local calls to other mobiles will be charged at Rs. 0.49/min.

Bottomline: Call charges are not much different with other standard offers however removal of processing fee and service charges is worth provided if you are ready to spend Rs. 1947 in advance.
