Shyam telecom gets spectrum for pan India CDMA services

Indian government today allocated the spectrum for Shyam telecom to start their CDMA services all over the country. Major stake of the Shyam telecom is owned by Russain telecom leader Sistema and with the allotment, Shyam telecom becomes the third player in the country to offer CDMA services after Reliance ADAG owned RCom and Tata teleservices. Shyam telecom had applied for the license in 21 circles except Rajasthan in which the company is already offering services under its brand name Oasis. Shyam telecom has already started rolling out its network and is expected to offer the services soon.
On a related news, New entrants in the GSM spectrum like Datacom, Unitech, Loop Telecom and Swan telecom have been alloted GSM radio frequency in six circles initially and the Indian government is looking at the availability of spectrum in other circle also.
