Ping launches branded mobile for Rs. 499

HFCL Infotel ltd which runs CDMA mobile service in Punjab and Chandigarh region, has launched its Ping brand colored mobiles for Rs. 499 in the market. This is an attempt by the company to penetrate into the urban, semi urban and the rural market. Ping Mobile which launched its service a year back is available across 270 towns and 2050 villages in Punjab and Chandigarh regions and has attracted 2.5 lakh subscribers so far.

Rs 499 handset comes up with a predefined activated prepaid mobile number, which can be recharged with special tariff packs for Rs. 151, Rs. 201 or Rs. 251. The local calls will be charged at one paisa per second and STD at Rs 1.50 per minute. The subscriber can also enjoy the validity of 30 days and STD call rate of rupee one per minute on the minimum recharge coupon of Rs. 33.
