Of these models 1650 is the more practical and contmporary and it is due to be launched in the third quarter 2007.

Design and usability:

The 1650 looks like a candy bar and it is compact and sturdy with measures of 17.8mm in depth, 104.2mm in height & 43.8mm width. Nokia’s 1650 comes with a 65,536 colours colour screen which is a CSTN(color super-twist nematics) type screen which has a screen resolution of 128 x 160 pixels which is ideal for displaying colourful wallpapers & themes. The Nokia 1650 comes with an easy to use interface & a good size keypad complete with shortcut keys. The one touch shortcut key allows the user to gain quick access to features including the messaging service, contact details, calendar, loud speaker & flashlight feature.

1650’s features:

Nokia’s 1650 supports around 75 local languages which is very imminent for entry level phones since most entry level buyers prefer their mother tongue over english.In Nokia 1650 you can store upto 250 sms and it also supports picture messaging and offers a distribution list for msging. Also the Nokia 1650 answers the need for cost control that too is very important in entry markets by having an application that allows for a pre-set time limit to be set for each call. Nokia offers a power saver mode in 1650 which allows you to conserve power to gain more talk time.

Nokia’s 1650 features a flashlight(simply torch), music-on-the-go via FM radio and supports MP3-grade and 32-chord polyphonic MIDI ringing tones. The GSM compatible 1650 has an impressive 8MB of internal memory 6MB more than Nokia’s another entry level model 2626 but 1650 lacks GPRS what 2626 has. Nokia’s much advertised facilities - speaking clock and alarm features in 1650 too. Using the 1650’s handsfree speaker option you can make short voice recording which can be stored on the handset and can be used as a reminder foe later use.The 1650 comes with preloaded games which include snake xenzia, beach rally & soccer league game.The Nokia 1650 is also equipped with common features like a calculator, stopwatch, calendars and countdown timer.

Battery and the price:

Nokia’s 1650 uses BL-5C battery one of the longest on any phone - Nokia bets a staggering 8 hours talktime with up to 17 days(420hrs) standby time. The Nokia 1650 will be available in metallic red and metallic black colours. The estimated price for the 1650 would be approximately Rs3085 excluding taxes and subsidies. Totally another exciting phone from Nokia for practical users.
