How long does the battery last?
At least a day and a half on moderate usage, when using dual sim. On a single sim it will last more. If you are a very heavy user then it will last one day.

How does the operating software of Huwai phones works or performing as compared to mi and one plus phones?
I personally don't like Emui (Huawei software) much. But as this phone has great hardware, there is no problem with the speed and performance. One plus software is almost stock software.(pixel experience) Miui is another story. (FULL OF ADS)
