Unable to update to marshmallow. Doesn't seem to be a device issue but more of an issue with lava. Still...the problem is there and very irritating

Wont recieve any network signals

The handset I received is a faulty piece with a small scratch on surface. Handset is not receiving any network signals at all. Whay use of a phone without network signals. Not installing Android 6.0 update by any means. It shows error with flat Android

Good phone but the biggest disadvantage for this is the lag timing of camera.

Good value for Money Phone
4.0 stars
I had been doing an online search and comparing different products in the below RS. 10000 range and zeroed in on this product. Since my primary criteria was a smartphone which I can use mainly for emails and a bit of social networking, having a good camera was never my priority. Lava Pixel V1 met my expectations. I have been using this phone for past 2 months and I must say its value for money. If you disregard the battery consumption factor, I would say that is performing very very good. I got a free upgrade to Android 6.0 right away. Camera is also pretty good with a 13 MP primary (software enhanced 8 MP) and 8 MP secondary (software enhanced 5 MP). Would definitely recommend.

Best Mid Range phone in terms of Software, mediocre otherwise
4.0 stars
Ok, it has been 3 months since I am using this phone and I planned to write this review. It is a bit exhaustive and I am hoping that it might be useful for some one who is considering this phone.
First things first, this is not meant for gamers and heavy app users. This is a mid range phone and it does its job at that. I am not a gamer and I cannot comment on the gaming performance.
Ok, let's get into the PROs and CONs.
PROs:
+ Display: The display is quite good, though the PPI is just 267. I have not noticed any pixelation and all colours and textures are crisp.
+ Performance: Yeah, I know its not the epitome of performance but after Android 6.0, the memory management is excellent. With around 30+ apps, the memory usage hovers between 40% and 45%. The UI is clean and for a normal user, there is absolutely no lag.
+ Software: Clean UI, Pure Android at its best. There is absolutely no nonsense loaded into the phone and timely updates from Google is Icing on the cake
+Design/Build: This is a hit or miss, but in my opinion it is a well designed phone. The build, though not in lines of Motorola still is solid enough.
CONS:
- Camera lag: This is the worst part. The image quality is good in General but the lag is highly annoying. There is a shutter lag of atleast 4 seconds so, you will easily miss your shot. I have found a workaround to this which comes later in this review.
- Battery life: The battery is claimed to be 2650mAH, yet the battery life is pathetic. with 3G always on, I get a maximum of 6-7 hours
- No hot swap: To insert a SIM, or memory card, the battery has to be removed all the time
BUGS: Some bugs I have noticed:
==Network switching: When we want to switch data network from one sim to another, it doesn't work unless we restart the phone
==When the phone is switched off, it doesn't turn back ON unless the battery is removed. Strangely this happened even in my first gen Android one
== There is a small grey circle which at times appears at the bottom of the screen and goes away on its own. I am not sure if this is specific to my phone
SOME MUST HAVES:
>> Get the LAVA original flip cover. The quality is very good and also complements the phone's looks
>> Install a battery saver app. This will be helpful in battery life
>> For the Camera, I am using "High Speed Camera". This captures photos only in 1920x1080 but has zero shutter lag and is useful in many situations
VERDICT:
Well, it is a 50/50. I bought it just for the android one and software optimization and I am pretty happy on that part. If you want the latest from google and cannot afford a nexus, this is the phone to go for.
If you have other needs like heavy app usage or Gaming or need a snappy camera, well, there are better options.
Thanks for Reading my review.
