Great business phone
5.0 stars
I have always been fascinated by BlackBerry during its heydays, though I never had the opportunity to own one. So when BlackBerry Key2 was globally launched, I was following the events closely, and placed order as soon as the phone was launched in Amazon on 31st July. I have been using the phone for less than 1 week, and my observations are given below :-
What is good about the phone?
1. This is a carpet to carpet business phone. If you are using it for business usage, you will love it
2. Excellent battery life. With Jio data on all the time, checking & writing mails, and moderate to heavy phone calls, my phone's battery lasts at least 2 days
3. Security features are the best, which is why it is a BlackBerry
4. The BlackBerry Hub is where you can see all your mails (and even Whatsapp). I think no app comes even close to it
5. The keyboard is absolutely great. The shortcut key and convenience key opens up enormous possibilities of using shortcuts to apps etc.
6. The physical appearance is great and will stand out in the crowd. It is a head turner
7. The fingerprint sensor which is the spacebar works great. I did not have any hits & misses so far. Mind you, I face this problem regularly in my S8+
8. The entire keyboard acts like a giant trackpad which you can use to navigate up or down, right or left, without having to touch the screen
What is not so good about the phone?
1. Mediocre camera performance
2. Processor is decent but not super fast, as you will find in some of the flagship phones
3. The screen can be inhibitive for multimedia viewing and social media usage
4. The phone does not have water resistance certification & probably this is not possible since it has a physical keyboard. So one should be careful that no water is splashed on the phone or about using it in the rain
5. Lack of availability of quality accessories
As I said, I am using the phone exclusively for business use, and I find it amazing. In fact, I have installed only 2 additional apps - Whatsapp & Linkedin for business purpose. The appeal of the phone lies in its usage. So if you buy this phone as a productivity booster for your business purpose, you will love it. On the other hand, if you plan to view multimedia through social media apps, this phone is not for you. You would also need to have a fascination for physical keyboard (and not think of it as cumbersome) to like this phone. I belong to the old school, and the initial USP for buying this phone was the physical keyboard on the latest Android platform.
I also did some homework on the availability of BlackBerry authroised service centers (for peace of mind), and they do exist. For example, I came across 2 in Kolkata, where I live. I am sure that in happening cities, there will be more. Providing below some useful coordinates for prospective buyers of this phone - Blackberry India website : blackberrymobile.in (here you can look up for BlackBerry authorised service centers in your city). Toll free number for BlackBerry India : 18004192556. Trust me, I found the helpdesk to be extremely cooperative & helpful.

This isn't for people who play.
5.0 stars
Been a blackberry user for more than a decade. Used the Bold, Z10, Priv for business purpose. Its key2 now. Ladies and gentlemen this is a 'no nonsense' phone. This definitely not for those who play or watch movies. All you serious ones who work with your phone, this is for you.

Great phone, yet again! Only slightly better than the Keyone!
4.0 stars
Upgrading from a BlackBerry Keyone, I think I was expecting a lot more. However, I do love this phone still, albiet a few things could have been slightly better:
Pros:
I love, mostly, everything about this device. From aesthetics to the qwerty keyboard's functionality. The biggest improvement is indeed the keyboard. Much better feedback, more convenient to type as compared to the Keyone, and far better overall feel vs the gloss keys. The OS is the second best thing about the Key2! Very responsive, and no lags whatsoever. That's one issue I had with the Keyone! But this unit works perfect. I own a OnePlus 5T which is my secondary device, and I can say this matches up quite well. No second thoughts on that!
Cons:
1. The speaker on the Keyone had slightly more detail. I'm hoping this would get better with more use, though.
2. The camera on the Keyone was better. I can't deny that I haven't found the time to play around with it much, but that's what it is at first impression.
3. The fingerprint sensor seems slightly less accurate. I never had this issue on the Keyone. Could be just my unit, but I see it not functioning as it should.
I don't think the cons are deal breakers at all, however, this is a phone only for BlackBerry fanboys, people who love productivity, and people who love physical keyboards. For me, it ticks all the right boxes!
Edit: Been a few months since I've been using this now, still love it! However, one major disappoinment is the network reception! I don't know how BB could screw this up, but my second phone (OnePlus 6) receives network much better. For example: The Key2 will be at 1 bar, where my OnePlus is on 4-5 bars. Apart from this, it's a fantastic phone. So, for people who just have one phone, this could be a major drawback!

A No Nonsense utility phone..
5.0 stars
Only verified purchases can vouch for it, rest are misleading and malicious, the usuall BlackBerry critics.
Definitely not for the gaming and multimedia enthusiasts.
Takes only a day to master the shortcut and convinience keys, and then you're all set.
Battery easily lasts upto 36 hrs.

Ok. If you want a phone this is it. If you want something to watch videos over or play games, you won't want this. This is the only reason to not buy it. I would have loved if it had BlackBerry logo on the front

BlackBerry back with QWERTY
5.0 stars
I have been a diehard fan of blackberry for the past 10 years. Was missing the QWERTY keyboard and here you go with Key2. But still will miss the BlackBerry OS.
